Pentagon Memorial hosting Concert honoring Veterans’ Day

November 4, 2011 -- (Washington, D.C.) –The Rockville High School Pipe Band will be performing on the grounds of the Pentagon Memorial on November 12th in honor of all those who have served in the armed forces. The concert is part of a series of events taking place all weekend in the D.C. Capital region in honor of Veterans Day. The Rockville High School Pipe Band was formed in 1961 and at the time was the only pipe band in the state of Maryland. The concert will be a sunset performance and is expected to begin at approximately 4:45pm. This concert is open to the public.

“When you think about honoring all the Veterans across this country and this region I can’t think of a more appropriate spot than the Pentagon Memorial,” said Thomas Heidenberger, member of the Board of Directors of the Pentagon Memorial Fund. “I’m excited to welcome these local musicians and I look forward to the public joining us at this concert to celebrate their service and remember all those who have sacrificed so much.”

About the Pentagon Memorial Fund:
The Pentagon Memorial Fund is a non-profit organization established by the families of the 184 victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in Washington, DC. The Pentagon Memorial Fund's mission is to provide 9/11 education resources and outreach programs, while raising funds to preserve the Memorial for future generations and ultimately constructing a visitor education center near the Memorial.
