The Vision

The focus of the Ground Zero Museum tells a larger story about how we got to 9/11, the origins of terrorism, and the prior terrorist attack on the site, as well as the story of American heroism and courage. The focus of Ground Zero is on how we got here.

At Shanksville, visitors learn about Flight 93, and the heroism of the brave Americans who sacrificed their lives to save so many others. The focus of the Flight 93 National Memorial is based on that moment in time.

The 9/11 Pentagon Memorial Visitor Education Center will tell a very different story. The focus will be on how America responded and moved forward. It’s the “final chapter” without which a true understanding of September 11th simply is not possible.

Imagine The VEC

As the only 9/11 Memorial site without a Visitor Education Center, completing this space will prove our response didn’t end.
